Journey into Health and Social Care

It’s been a busy start to the week here at NCT, 13 learners have started their journey into Health and Social Care. This introductory course is designed to provide people with the knowledge desired to work in the Health and Social Care Sector.

Emma Gorse, a learner on our NCT course, found out about the course through her local careers service. Emma had previously worked with the NHS for nine years working as an Auxiliary Nurse and left to care for her father when he was diagnosed with cancer. While caring for her father, she had recognised the time and commitment it takes to care for someone. After that, Emma had to decide whether she wanted to go back into nursing/care.

Emma finally decided that she wished to become a nurse, but after her time working in the NHS she had gained qualifications such as Medication and Infection Control, which weren't helping with her job search. Emma commented, “I left school with no qualifications, and while working as a nurse for the NHS I gained a lot of different qualifications that helped me within my job role but not with my job search.

The Health and Social Care course that I’m completing is really interesting, and I’m using this as a stepping stone to help me achieve my career in nursing!”

Our Health and Social Care course is an excellent way to gain knowledge to help you achieve your desired career. We wish our Health and Social Care learners the best of luck while completing their course.
