Who The Apprenticeship Is For

This course is suitable for Senior Care Workers, Managers or Assistant Managers of residential services, day services or domiciliary care

What Will You Learn

Apprenticeship Content

This higher qualification will enhance your skills within the role of a Carer. This course will include undertaking a research project within services for health and social care, developing health and safety policies, procedures and practices and the development of systems that promote communication

There are three pathways based on relevant job roles within the qualification including:

Management – directed at day/domiciliary services

Residential Management – directed at Management with a residential setting

Advanced Practice – directed at Senior Practitioners

Learning Methods

You will be assigned a qualified training advisor, where learning will be undertaken by mixture of 1 to 1 sessions, group sessions, on/off the job learning, research projects and mentor support as well as opportunities to supervise others

Assessment Methods

The course will be assessed via a range of methods which could include direct observations in the workplace, written/electronic portfolio, professional discussion, guided discussions and assignments

A degree within a related discipline

Career Opportunities

This course could lead onto management roles in a wide range of health and social care settings

Entry Requirements


You need to have been a resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the past 3 years and should be at least 19 years old. You will need to be currently employed, or volunteering within the health and social care sector to show competence. It is also recommended that you hold a Level 3 qualification in a related area
