What is a Traineeship?
Introduced in 2013, Traineeships provide an education and training programme with work experience that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for.
With Traineeships, businesses can help develop the next generation of employees, equipping young people with the personal and practical skills required.
Who can undertake a Traineeship?
Traineeships are targeted at 16-23 year olds who are not currently in employment, but who are motivated to work. Our Traineeships are suitable for those who have little work experience and would like to develop their skills and employability.

How to recruit a trainee?
Our specialist Recruitment Team will advertise your traineeship vacancies on the National Apprenticeship Service, related recruitment websites and social media to ensure maximum visibility for your vacancies. We will market your vacancies as widely as possible, targeting your audiences through our strong links with the Work Programme, Job Centre Plus and schools.
How much does it cost?
All training costs are met by government funding. Employers are not required to pay young people taking part in a Traineeship.
What is my involvement as an employer?
You will need to commit to a high quality work placement, lasting at least six weeks within your organisation.
All learners must be offered an interview with their main employer at the end of the work placement in the form of either:
