All those who wish to work, or who are working in an un-supervised role with adults in health and social care

What Will You Learn

Apprenticeship Content

This advanced qualification will enhance your skills within the role of a Carer. The course will cover the role of a Health and Social Care Worker, including principles for implementing and promoting duty of care, health and safety, person centred care, safeguarding & protection, equality & diversity, confidentiality and personal development. There are optional units available to tailor your course to further develop your knowledge in mental health, dementia and learning difficulties

Learning Methods

You will be assigned a qualified training advisor, where learning will be undertaken by mixture of 1 to 1 sessions, group sessions, on/off the job learning and mentor support, as well as opportunities to supervise others

Assessment Methods

The course will be assessed via a range of methods which could include direct observations in the workplace, written/electronic portfolio, guided discussions and assignments

Progression Opportunities

There would be opportunities to progress onto a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or qualifications within Team Leading, Management or Further Education

Career Opportunities

This course could lead onto role as a Senior Care Worker within residential care homes, caring in the community or Primary Care Environments. As well as other roles, including a Paramedic, Nurse, Midwife or Dental Practitioner

Entry Requirements


You need to have been a resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the past 3 years and should be at least 16 years old. You will need to be currently employed, or volunteering within the health and social care sector to show competence. It is preferred that you have completed a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care
