Danielle Foster DevilWear
Congratulations to June’s Apprentice of The Month, Danielle Foster! Who is currently completing her Level 2 Apprenticeship in Customer Service with Profound Services, and has become an integral part of the team at DevilWear.
DevilWear are an online clothing retailer based in Peterlee, who have been trading since 2002. They specialise in providing branded fashion, sportswear and accessories at low prices.
Danielle has shown such an improvement in her skills and confidence since starting her Apprenticeship that DevilWear have decided to keep her on as a full time member of staff! Danielle is a great example of People Who Go Further.
Emma Roberts, Manager at DevilWear, commented “We were really lucky to have found such a great person with motivation and enthusiasm for the work we wanted her to do. She quickly became a well-respected member of our team and has flourished throughout her Apprenticeship. We offered her a full time position well before the end of her training, as we felt she is a valued member and has contributed to a rise in our outstanding customer service levels.”
We asked Danielle a few questions about her journey as an apprentice:
How did you hear about apprenticeships?
I was at East Durham College and they told me about Apprenticeships. I decided to do one because I wanted to gain more knowledge and experience whilst gaining a qualification.
How did you find your apprenticeship?
My partner helped me find the Apprenticeship vacancy with DevilWear on the National Apprenticeship Service website where I found out more before applying for the position
How do you find balancing your work with studying?
It’s good, sometimes it can be quiet and my manager lets me do my Apprenticeship work then. I always get support to help me keep on track and complete my work. My manager has helped me throughout the Apprenticeship.
What are you hoping to get out of your apprenticeship?
I hope to get a full time job and a complete qualification. I really wanted to work in customer service because I am a people person and an understanding person. I get along well with people and this is why I want to get a job in this area.
How has it changed your life?
It has changed my life a lot as I can do more in my personal life, I can go out and go shopping, I feel independent. I have just signed my contract to be kept on full time after my Apprenticeship so I now have the job I want. I feel like I can carry out my role and work professionally, I can resolve problems and handle queries.
What advice would you give to young people unsure whether or not to go to college, uni or do an apprenticeship?
Stick in with what you want to do and get the good grades you want. Keep focused and try not to go off track. I would recommend Apprenticeships because you can earn while you learn. You are getting hands on experience of having a job and working towards a qualification.
Danielle’s Training Advisor, Carrie, added “Danielle has worked extremely hard throughout her Apprenticeship and is making excellent progress. She has a motivated and eager attitude to learning and improving her skills. Since she started her Apprenticeship she has improved in all aspects, from her work relating to her BTEC Diploma in Customer Service, to her performance and confidence within the workplace. I am overjoyed that Danielle has been taken on for a full time position with DevilWear and I believe she will go far in her career and be successful. Well done Danielle!”
Profound Services and DevilWear wish Danielle every success in her career!
